Customers of T-Mobile have complained that the mobile phone network bars access to gay websites. T-Mobile, one of the UK’s largest mobile phone networks, appears to block gay-related content as unsuitable for under-18s.

The winner of Miss Universe 2010 has come out in support of gay marriage. Mexican beauty queen Ximena Navarrete said she had lots of gay friends and there was “no reason we should want to set them aside”.

A Scottish teenager who initiated the murder of a gay man was cleared of a vicious street assault this week. Alexander Kindred, now aged 18, was 15 when he claimed that council worker James Kerr, 51, had made sexual advances to him in a park.

California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Attorney-General Jerry Brown will not be forced to defend the state’s ban on gay marriage.

A contender for the leadership of the Ulster Unionist Party has said he would not attend gay pride marches or GAA games. Tom Elliott said it was a “personal issue”.
